Controller

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company’s accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance. This opportunity is ideal for a finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has experience in private equity-backed or SaaS organizations. The successful candidate will bring a blend of technical accounting expertise, operational efficiency, and a forward-thinking approach to contribute to the company's continued success. 

Reports To: Chief Financial Officer  
Employment Type: Full-Time 
Salary Range: $150,000 – $180,000 annually plus bonus and equity, depending on experience and qualifications.  

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred. 

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including operating accounting roles in a company. 

  • Experience in a private equity-backed or high-growth environment preferred. 

  • Demonstrated success at building an efficient accounting function in a growth company.  

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting standards. 

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. 

  • Proficiency with accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage) and Excel. 

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive an efficient and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. 

  • Identify and implement ways to accelerate close calendars, improve automation, and streamline processes.  

  • Consult with other team members on structuring complex transactions to ensure proper accounting and reporting treatment.  

  • Perform all accounting functions, including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger functions. 

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP. 

  • Develop and maintain internal controls and accounting policies. 

  • Manage audits and coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors. 

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes. 

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and reporting obligations. 

  • Partner with the CFO on strategic initiatives, including M&A integration, systems implementation, and financial modeling. 

  • Drive process improvements and automation across the finance function. 

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support business operations and decision-making.
